Jackal lost track of time, of staring into the blue sky and letting the wind tickle his neck. He ignored the guards, and he ignored the cramping in his shoulders. When the silk robed man stepped close to him, though, gripping the railing and standing far too close, the fighter could not keep himself from glancing at him suspiciously.

The taller figure returned the look, his smile sweet and bright as opal in the seaside sun. “You're very quiet.”

Jackal flinched, shooting his gaze back to the rolling water below, listening to the crash of the waves. Though he was still overwhelmed by the situation, his anxiety was bubbling. Who is this man, and why is he allowing this?

“You're called Jackal, am I correct?”

The fighter knotted his brow, and did not look at the speaker.

“It's alright, you're free to speak here. My name is Seliun Von Burdoch, I'm the Master of this place.” His head tilted, and he reached out with fingers long and elegant, aiming for the side of Jackal's face. It was too much, too unfamiliar, and the dark haired man grit his teeth as he yanked away. The guards shouted, hoisting the pole and pulling him violently further from the man who called himself Seliun.

“Don't be so brutal!” The tall man snapped, and the guards eased off on the pole, allowing Jackal to relax his posture, though he still glared at them all with distrust. “You mustn’t react so, what are you so scared of? I mean you no harm.”

Jackal could take no more, and he scowled as he grunted a response. “What do you mean for me, sir?”

Seliun paused, as if considering how he would answer. “A fair question. What I mean for you, my dear Jackal, is to offer you something I think you might find more appealing than a life of fighting to the death.”

Jackal felt his blood starting to pound, and the words of the young blonde came to him unbidden. 'I took an offer.' So this is what he meant. He licked his lips, which seemed suddenly very dry. “You're offering to free me? Can you possess such power, sir?”

The robed man laughed, and the sound made Jackal's hair prickle on his neck. “Free you? No, no. My dear Jackal, I'm capable of many things, but complete freedom is indeed beyond me.”

Jackal felt his heart sink, and his eyes shut tightly, bitter amusement on his tongue. “As I thought.” What a fool I am, to get my hopes up so easily.

Seliun rubbed at his scalp, and his voice, when he began again, was a wistful whisper. “Forgive me, I did not mean to mislead you. But do not look so forlorn, I do still have an offer that I think will tempt you. Have you ever heard of a... pleasure slave?”

His head jerked up, fixing a wide eyed stare of honest shock into those crystal eyes; Seliun was smiling.

Of course Jackal had heard of pleasure slaves, people who were enslaved to service their owners in any which way the master could deem fit.
